Paul Bunyan, a smaller Wisconsin gem, offers a modest experience fitting for those seeking gentle slopes or a leisurely day on the snow. With but 150 feet of vertical, the focus here is less on high-speed descent and more on the simple joy of gliding. It’s an agreeable spot for beginners, young folk, or those who prefer a less strenuous outing.

For the touring skier, Paul Bunyan makes a sensible stop on a wider circuit through the upper Midwest. It sits but a short drive from Trollhaugen and Wild Mountain, two other compact hills easily bundled into a multi-day trip. The drives betwixt these spots remain brief, mostly pleasant countryside jaunts that scarcely require much planning.

This mountain stands as an independent operation, yet it grants passage through the Indy Pass. This inclusion provides a fair advantage for those whose winter journeys already include these mountains. Be mindful, however, that its diminutive stature does mean less terrain to explore than some larger brethren.
