Privacy Policy
Last updated · May 17, 2026
Powdorf ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the limited information we collect when you use beta.powdorf.com (the "Service") and how we handle it. By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
- Planner inputs. Start and end points, days, party size, preferences, passes, budget, and free-text notes you submit to generate a trip.
- Approximate location. We use your IP address (via a third-party geolocation lookup) to center the map on your country or region. We do not request precise browser geolocation.
- Account data. If you create an account, your email address and authentication identifiers managed by our backend provider.
- Generated content. Trips you publish or save, associated metadata, and timestamps.
- Technical data. Standard server and edge-function logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps, request paths) retained for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
2. How we use information
- To generate ski road trip itineraries and render the interactive map.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To prevent abuse, fraud, and excessive automated use.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use your inputs to train AI models we control.
3. Third-party services we rely on
- Mapbox — map tiles, geocoding, and driving directions.
- GeoJS — approximate IP-based geolocation for initial map centering.
- Hosting and database provider — application hosting, authentication, and stored trip data.
- AI gateway providers — large language model inference to compose itineraries. Your prompt is transmitted to the selected model provider to generate a response.
Each provider has its own privacy practices, which we do not control.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to maintain your authenticated session if you sign in, and a small functional cookie to remember UI preferences. We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies at this time. See our Cookie Policy for details.
5. Data retention
Planner inputs that you do not save are not retained beyond the request lifecycle and short-term logs. Published trips and account data are retained until you delete them or your account. Server logs are retained for a rolling period sufficient for security and operational needs.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
7. International transfers
The Service is operated from the United States and processes data with providers located in the U.S. and elsewhere. By using the Service you consent to the transfer of your information to jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
