Snow King

Snow King, a sturdy peak in Wyoming, offers good value for its size. With 1,571 feet of vertical and 500 skiable acres, it is a fine place to hone one's technique, particularly for those who appreciate accessibility and a less sprawling experience. The mountain provides a local's flavor, unadorned and direct.

For the touring wizard, Snow King is an excellent complement to a larger regional trip. It sits but a short drive of approximately nine miles from Jackson Hole, allowing one to sample the local's mountain after contending with that behemoth. Grand Targhee is also within easy reach, about twenty-five miles distant, providing further variety without excessive travel.

As an independently operated mountain, Snow King maintains its own spirit. It sees inclusion on the Indy and Powder Alliance passes, offering a convenient benefit to those already holding such access for their wider adventures. Visitors should note its earnest simplicity; this is not a resort built on pretense.
