Hohsaas - Saas-Grund

Hohsaas, above Saas-Grund, offers a stout vertical drop for those who appreciate a full descent. It is a European peak, quite suited for the determined skier who finds satisfaction in sustained pitches rather than sprawling acreage. Think of it as a good, honest day’s work on the skis.

For the touring sort, Hohsaas pairs naturally with its grander neighbor, Zermatt Matterhorn, a short jaunt through Swiss valleys. Alternatively, one could dip south into Italy and link up with Alagna Valsesia or Cervinia, each less than an hour's drive. This offers a chance to sample distinct alpine cultures and cuisine in quick succession.

Hohsaas accepts the Indy Pass, a useful consideration for those journeying from afar. Do note, however, that while geographically proximate to other notable peaks, road conditions and border crossings can influence travel times between these Alpine destinations.
