Cooper Spur, under the care of the Drake Family, offers a more intimate ski experience. With a modest 431 feet of vertical and 50 skiable acres, it caters well to those seeking gentle turns and a less crowded slope. The average snowfall of 250 inches ensures a pleasant, if not vast, canvas.

For the touring scholar of snow, Cooper Spur sits quite handily near a trio of more famed peaks. Mount Hood Meadows, Timberline Lodge, and Mount Hood Skibowl are but a short drive away, perhaps an hour or less, forming a cluster for a concentrated sampling of Oregon's offerings.

This small gem is found upon the Indy Pass. One should understand, however, that while its nearby brethren offer extensive terrain, Cooper Spur is a quiet companion, not a grand destination unto itself. Plan accordingly.
